March 2016 Newsletter

March always comes “roaring” into Elementary South like a lion because when March comes in, so does STATE TESTING.   Children in grades 3, 4, and 5 will be taking the PARCC exams the week after Spring Break.  They will complete two tests in Math and three tests in Language Arts.  The children and their teachers have worked all year to learn the Common Core Standards and we all feel confident that they have been well prepared for state testing.  Thank you for making sure your child has been well rested, at school on time, and has had a good breakfast.  We have done the rest!

Testing is not all that is going on around here!  Thanks to all who came out for FAMILY FUN NIGHT! The BMX biker was awesome, the book sales were incredible, and we were able to earn lots of free books for our school.  It was great fun for all who attended and a special thanks to our family alliance, PTO, and volunteers who made the event such a success!

Thank you again for your continued support.  As always, if you have any questions or input, please do not hesitate to call or e-mail me.  I can be reached at or (847) 990-4800.

Have a wonderful Spring Vacation with family and friends!
