Be Seen and Heard Student Assembly

Thank you to the many parents and guardians who joined us for the Be Seen and Heard© informational meeting on Monday, December 2nd at Aspen School. We very much appreciate your interest in partnering with us to support our students’ understanding of important safety skills. Special thanks are also extended to the Hawthorn P.T.O for co-hosting this program for our parent community. If you were unable to attend the session, please consider visiting to view the Be Seen and Heard© Peace of Mind video for parents.

As a reminder, Erin’s Law (House Bill 6193) requires all public schools to implement a prevention-oriented child sexual abuse program. Hawthorn District 73 is hosting the Be Seen and Heard© assembly program for all elementary students during the second week in December. This program is designed to create an age-appropriate, safe, and engaging environment in which students learn the difference between safe and unsafe touch, and the importance of having trusted heroes. Please see this bulletin (English or Español) for additional details about the Be Seen and Heard© program.
