Students in fifth grade recently finished a unit in social studies about the 13 colonies, settlements, colonization and life as colonists. On March 20th they visited the Naper Settlement to experience the authentic life of living in the colonial days. Students participated in the churning of butter and then tasting it, using a printing press to create a bookmark and school procedures and behaviors in the one room school house.
